Since 1998 Shannan has been involved in all aspects of InSite Design’s ecologically sensitive and innovative landscape design and management.

Notable projects in her portfolio include Detroit's Oudolf Garden, the City of Ann Arbor Municipal Center, the Great Lakes Garden at Matthaei Botanical Gardens, and the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center Courtyard.

Additionally, she is a frequently sought after public speaker for sustainable stormwater and native planting design, and is a member of the Planning Commission for the City of Ann Arbor.
